Obiettivi formativi
The course aims to provide knowledge about power systems for mobilty application. There are focused systems for locala and national mobility. The power infrastructures are studied in terms of scheme, device, and system, widely interconnected. Design criteria and operating conditions are discussed. Methods and algorithms for simulating power systems for mobility in terms of power flow exchanges are examined. The lectures deal with special regards the applications of railway traction systems.
Conoscenza e capacita' di comprensione: Students acquire knowledge of both technological features of electrical components and methodologies for their integration in power systems. Simulation techniques are adopted for examining use cases focusing on mobiloity application.
Capacita' di applicare conoscenza e comprensione: Students apply the acquired knowledge to practical mobility examples. The acquired knowledge enables students to understand both operating characteristics of electrical components and fundamental design criteria used in electrified traction systems.

Modalità d'esame
The student’s exam consists of two successive phases (Phase 1 + Phase 2).
Phase 1 - “Written exercise”: This phase involves solving an AC or DC electrical circuit. Students have 30 minutes to complete the assignment.
Phase 2 - “Oral discussion”: In this phase, the student engages in a discussion with the teacher on the course's topics. Phase 2 takes place if the student passes Phase 1.
Typically, both phases are conducted on a single day.
The final score is assigned at the end of Phase 2. In the case of a positive evaluation, the score falls within the interval of 18 (minimum) to 30 cum laude (maximum).
