Caratteristiche e finalità
Il Corso di laurea si tiene in inglese e francese. Inoltre, è articolato secondo una prefissata mobilità internazionale: I semestre a Padova, II semestre a KULeuven, III semestre presso Univ. Paris 1, Panthéon - Sorbonne.
Il IV semestre (per tirocinio e tesi) si terrà o in una delle università sopra citate, o presso l'Università Catholica Dom Bosco (Campo Grande/Brasile) o in una delle tre università partner africane: Cairo Univ., Ouagadougo Univ., Johannesburg Univ.
Studentesse e studenti possono svolgere attività di tirocinio e di ricerca per la tesi anche nelle tre sedi partner non accademiche: Via-Via Tourism Academy - Belgium, Alda - Italy and Sebrae - Brazil.
I quattro pilastri della sostenibilità sono il filo rosso degli insegnamenti e sono caratterizzanti le varie sedi coinvolte: le dinamiche socio-territoriali (Padova), le dinamiche ambientali (Leuven), le dinamiche economiche (Paris) in prospettiva sociale ambientale e culturale. Infine, i quattro pilastri sono collegati trasversalmente dalle dinamiche di governance (cioè le policies).
Laureate e laureati avranno la capacità di riconoscere l'emergere di condizioni favorevoli allo sviluppo sostenibile e, contestualmente, di individuare le condizioni di insostenibilità, di disegnare processi di sostenibilità dello sviluppo e pianificare prassi correttive in contesti di insostenibilità; infine, sapranno promuovere l'affermarsi di condizioni favorevoli allo sviluppo sostenibile.
In particolare, a questo riguardo, laureate e laureati conosceranno in maniera approfondita e avranno la capacità di applicare - in piena autonomia, con funzioni direttive e anche in contesti particolarmente problematici - le diverse metodologie usate per l'elaborazione, l'attuazione, il monitoraggio e la valutazione di programmi e progetti per lo sviluppo sostenibile.
Il tirocinio on site è organizzato in collegamento con enti e ong pertinenti, per affrontare lo studio di caso che fornirà il punto di partenza per lo sviluppo della tesi di laurea.
Il Corso prevede un kick-off seminar (KOS) di tre, quattro giorni, attività di orientamento in ingresso che implica il coinvolgimento di tutte le risorse operative del corso. L'efficacia propedeutica del KOS deriva dal creare solide fondamenta alle attività didattiche attraverso la condivisione dei contenuti del corso e la conoscenza dei ruoli/compiti previsti.
Ambiti occupazionali
I potenziali sbocchi professionali si collocano nel vasto campo dello sviluppo territoriale sostenibile, a scala micro, meso e macro, per quanto riguarda analisi di contesto e studi di fattibilità, attività nel quadro del ciclo di progetto, partecipazione all'elaborazione e valutazione di politiche e programmi di settore. Ambiti:
organizzazioni non governative, amministrazioni pubbliche, agenzie nazionali e internazionali, associazioni di categoria e di cittadinanza, imprese.

Characteristics and objectives
The degree course is held in English and French. The course is also organized according to a fixed international mobility: the first semester in Padua, the II semester at KULeuven and the III semester at Univ. Paris 1, Panthéon - Sorbonne.
The IV sem (for internship and thesis) will be held in either one of theseuniversities: at the Dom Bosco Catholica University (Campo Grande / Brazil) or at one of three African partner universities at Cairo Univ., Ouagadougo Univ., and the Univ of Johannesburg. Students can apply for internships and research for the thesis even in the 3 non-academic partner organisations: Via-Via Tourism Academy - Belgium, Alda - Italy and Sebrae - Brazil.
The 4 pillars of sustainability are the connecting threads of the teachings that are distributed in the various locations involved: socio-spatial dynamics (Padua), environmental dynamics (Leuven), and economic dynamics(Paris) from an environmental and socio-cultural perspective. Finally, the four pillars are connected transversely by governance dynamics (i.e.policies).
Graduates will be able to recognize the emergence of favourable conditions for sustainable development and, simultaneously, to identify the conditions of unsustainability. Furthermore, they will be able to draw on the sustainability of the development processes and to plan corrective practices in contexts of unsustainability. Lastly, they will also be able to promote the establishment of conditions conducive to sustainable development.
In particular, in this respect, graduates will acquire an in-depth knowledge and will have the ability to applyin full autonomy and even in particularly problematic contextsthe different methodologies used for the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects for sustainable development.
The course includes a kick-off seminar (3-4 days). This activity provides an orientation to the master through the involvement of all of the operational resources of the course. The propaedeutic efficacy of kick-off seminar (KOS) comes from creating a solid foundation for educational activities through the sharing of course content and the knowledge of the roles/tasks that are offered.
The course includes an on-site traineeship in collaboration with relevant agencies, associations, institutions, companies and NGOs, with the objective of conducting a case study that will provide the starting point for the master degree's final exam.
Occupational opportunities
Potential professional opportunities lie in the vast field of sustainable territorial development at the micro-, meso- and macro-scale/level. They concern context analysis and feasibility studies, activities in the framework of the project cycle, participation in the design and evaluation of policies and sector programs.
Workplaces: NGOs, public administrations at various levels, national and international agencies and organizations, professional associations and citizens' associations, companies.
