Il Corso di Laurea Magistrale in Civil Engineering si pone l'obiettivo di formare ingegneri con competenze professionali di ampio respiro internazionale, che sono state identificate mediante consultazione con istituzioni accademiche e stakeholders europei ed americani. Il profilo internazionale del Corso di Laurea è perseguito incoraggiando le esperienze di studio all'estero, mediante accordi quadro con prestigiose istituzioni accademiche finalizzati al conseguimento di doppia laurea, avvalendosi con profitto delle opportunità di scambio consolidate e proponendo accordi specifici per il Corso di Laurea.
Agli allievi vengono fornite le competenze tecniche e scientifiche caratteristiche del profilo dell'ingegnere civile ad alto livello, in un ambiente internazionale di respiro globale. La preparazione è finalizzata al progetto di interventi complessi, con particolate attenzione alla formazione della leadership necessaria per prendere decisioni di alta responsabilità.
Il laureato magistrale in Civil Engineering è in grado di progettare tutti i tipi di strutture, ed in particolare edifici civili, impianti industriali, ponti, strade e ferrovie e costruzioni idrauliche. Inoltre, in considerazione del contesto evolutivo attuale del tessuto sociale ed in stretta connessione con importanti istituzioni universitarie internazionali con le quali si sono avviati rapporti di collaborazione, particolare attenzione viene dedicata alla pianificazione territoriale ed alla protezione ed al recupero dell'ambiente. Infine, in considerazione della crescente esposizione del territorio ai rischi naturali ed industriali, viene fornita la formazione necessaria alla pianificazione e progettazione di interventi strutturali e non strutturali di protezione civile. Il laureato magistrale in Civil Engineering possiede spiccate capacità manageriali che gli consentono di assumere responsabilità dirigenziali ad alto livello. Gli sbocchi occupazionali del laureato magistrale in Civil Engineering sono compagnie di costruzione nazionali ed internazionali, autorità pubbliche e studi di progettazione e consulenza.
