Di cosa parla

  • Temperature sensors measure changes in heat content due to temperature or state changes, not the absolute amount of heat.
  • Bimetallic strips are used for thermal sensing and consist of two metals with different linear expansivities; they can be shaped into springs or discs. These strips bend as temperatures change, allowing precise temperature measurement over small ranges but suffer from hysteresis issues.
  • Thermocouples use the Seebeck effect to generate a voltage proportional to the temperature difference between their hot and cold junctions, making them useful for measuring temperature differences but limited in range due to non-linear characteristics. They are sensitive and can be used in hazardous environments with appropriate liquid fillings.
